Prepare for the German citizenship test
All 460 questions from the official catalog.
The ‘Leben in Deutschland’ test is the state-recognised civics exam used in Germany to assess constitutional and legal knowledge. Passing it is a requirement for permanent residence (Niederlassungserlaubnis) and for German citizenship.
The official catalogue published by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) contains 300 general questions plus ten state-specific questions for each of the 16 federal states — 460 in total. In the exam itself you answer 33 questions in 60 minutes: 30 general plus 3 from your federal state. The citizenship test (Einbürgerungstest) is passed with at least 17 of 33 correct, the ‘Leben in Deutschland’ test with 15 of 33.
This app contains the full catalogue with a short, legally grounded explanation for every question, translated into several languages — so you don't just learn the right answer, you understand why it's right.
